India’s Chandrayaan-3 has been landed softly on the south pole of the moon at 6.04 PM (IST) on 23rd August, 2023. The cause of crashing of Chandrayaan-3 has been perfectly addressed and corrections are applied to the Chandrayaan-3 mission. All the Indians and the whole space enthusiastic communities of the world are celebrating the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated the team ISRO for achieving this marvelous soft landing technique and dedicated this success to the world brotherhood. He said “India is now on the moon and now is the time to walk on the ‘Chandra Path’,”. The Vikram lander after successfully landing on the lunar surface, has sent a message that it has reached the moon with all the Indian too.

After separation from Propulsion module on 17th August, 2023 at 1.00 pm, the Vikram Lander with rover started its ‘deboosting’ process. In the process of ‘deboosting’ it has changed its orbit by gradually decreasing its speed. Before the time of soft landing it has gradually decreased its horizontal speed, which in turn increased its vertical speed. When it came too close to the moon, its breaks came to an action i.e. they started thrusting. In some point of time the vertical speed became zero by controlled breaking, when the lander was searching for a proper place to land. After confirming the place to land the vertical speed has been slightly increased and the altitude decreased gradually to zero.
This makes the history. India has become the first country on this planet to land on the south pole of the moon. The south pole which may herbour frozen water in the rocks that future explorers could transform into air and rocket fuel. From here the rover ‘Pragyan’ starts its functions. First it comes out from the Vikram lander and starts its scientific experiments. We are waiting for the data which will come out from the experiments.
